Inmate dies in Troup County Jail, GBI investigates

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating the demise of an inmate who died within the Troup County Jail Thursday evening.

At roughly 9:15 p.m. Thursday, a detention officer with the Troup County Sheriff’s Workplace discovered an inmate, recognized as 33-year-old Aaron Martinet, apparently unresponsive in his cell.

Medical and hearth officers then responded to the cell to try life-saving measures. The procedures continued as Martinet was taken to the hospital.

Martinette was pronounced useless at 4:30 a.m. Friday.
