The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating the demise of an inmate who died within the Troup County Jail Thursday evening.
At roughly 9:15 p.m. Thursday, a detention officer with the Troup County Sheriff’s Workplace discovered an inmate, recognized as 33-year-old Aaron Martinet, apparently unresponsive in his cell.
Medical and hearth officers then responded to the cell to try life-saving measures. The procedures continued as Martinet was taken to the hospital.
Martinette was pronounced useless at 4:30 a.m. Friday.
It’s nonetheless unclear how he died.
Deputies mentioned Martinet was being held on disorderly conduct prices.
The GBI mentioned it could conduct its personal investigation.
