A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of homicide in reference to the stabbing of a Metro Purple Line commuter on Thursday.
Police arrested Randy Nash at 9:10 p.m. Saturday close to the 1000 block of West eighty fifth Avenue, two days after his arrest. He allegedly drowned himself with a knife within the higher torso of 23-year-old Jesse Rodriguez, based on a information launch from the Los Angeles Police Division.
Police say Nash stabbed Rodriguez “with out warning or provocation” on the prepare on the Pershing Sq. station in downtown Los Angeles at 5:20 p.m. Thursday, then fled. Rodriguez was pronounced lifeless at a neighborhood hospital.
Nash is being held on $2 million bail.
